Job: 12th to 14th March, Gloucestershire.

So these few days are a chow down for Cheltenham week. On the menu are special lovelies like Norfolk crab with celeriac remoulade, roast rib of beef with wild garlic bearnaise, baked turbot with emerald pistachio sauce, a snowy meringue with poached pink rhubarb and fudge sauce and homemade limoncello granita. A funny mix of wintry meets spring. But that's ok because that's exactly what March is about.

Breakfasts here have been especially fun, including an original recipe (the one that's launched a thousand imitators) for Eggs Arnold Bennet of The Savoy fame. With a Bloody Mary to wash it down. As CR pointed out, Mary & Arnold are a very lovely partnership. Plus a homemade cottage loaf every morning; it's lovely to see smiley faces first thing and one of these usually helps. As do the Bloody Mary 'roadies' that accompanied the merry party to the race course each morning. Inspired!
